We are looking for companies to participate in Talent Hackathon 2024

The successful Talent Hackathon held in March 2023 will be held again in March 2024!

By participating, you will have the opportunity to network with potential future employees and find skilled interns, summer workers, or the expertise you need for other tasks in your company. In addition, you will get new ideas and perspectives tailored to your company’s operations as a result of the participants' work. In the best case, your company can even get a solution to your acute operational challenge!

Hackathons are a combination of creative thinking and various creative methods, where participants work in teams to solve a challenge presented to them in just a few days. The challenges can be, for example, everyday problems of the company that require creative solutions to ease or solve the problem. Examples of other hackathon events include DASH and Junction. 

What your company gets from participating? 

Four companies participated in the previous Talent Hackathon with their challenges - Manpower, VR, Valo Hotel & Work, and High Metal.

Talent Vantaa offers a turnkey participation opportunity for companies:

• You will get to know motivated international talents who are interested in your company. Hackathon is like a 2-day job interview or The Apprentice TV Show, where participants working under pressure use their own time to solve your company’s challenge.
• You will benefit from new ideas and perspectives. The hackathon results in concrete products that you can put into practice after the event.
• You will strengthen your employer brand and networks. You can use the opportunity for marketing and other communication.

What is required of the participating company?

• Challenge - Participants develop solution proposals for the challenge you presented at the event. The challenge may relate to, for example, the ideation of your company’s new service/product, your company’s operations, or even the development of customer experience. The challenge can be very general, and our experts will help you formulate your challenge in an appropriate form.
  
   
• Time and willingness to participate. We will take care of organizing the event. We expect you to spend only a few hours before the event. It would be good for your company to have 2-3 employees at the event who can help participants solve the challenge from the right direction but also monitor the skills of potential talents!
  
   
• Readiness to offer an internship, thesis, and/or job to an international talent if you find a suitable person through the event (participation in the event does not require companies to hire anyone!)
  
   
• Business activity in the Helsinki metropolitan area - the requirement for your participation is that your company operates in Vantaa, Helsinki, or Espoo.

What does participation cost you?

• Nothing! Participation is free for you, but there are a limited number of company places.

Talent Hackathon is part of the Talent Vantaa project, which promotes the objectives of the national Talent Boost program. The project is implemented by the city of Vantaa and receives funding from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment. The Talent Hackathon event is organized in collaboration with the Uusimaa TE Office.
