Vantaa: The Ultimate Launchpad for Your Startup
The technology and growth company event Slush will be held at the Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Centre on November 20-21, with over 200 side events taking place across the Helsinki metropolitan area. This year, the iconic ´Slush buzz´ will also be seen in Vantaa.

This year Vantaa takes part to the ‘Slush buzz’
The City of Vantaa is actively involved in the events of Slush week. The events, known for networking, offers the City of Vantaa new domestic and international contacts and potential partnerships to develop the city's vitality and create new innovations.
The Sisu Factory, a joint project of Helsinki, Espoo, and Vantaa, will present a unique acceleration program, Sisu Launchpad, at Slush. It is intended for non-EU startups that want to expand into the European market. Sisu Factory will organize a SaunaPitching event, which is one of the highlights of the acceleration program. International startups will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas in a sauna environment. It is a new creative concept that combines fun evening, new experiences, and a serious intention to advance and grow their business, for example, in Vantaa.
Vantaa is involved in organizing three other events, two of which will take place at the brand-new coworking space Startup Runway, located near the airport in the Avia Pilot building.
- On Tuesday, November 19, 25 representatives of the German Chambers of Commerce will visit Startup Runway. They will be introduced to Finland's startup ecosystem and innovation program. The event will also include a startup pitching session, where five startups will have 3 minutes to present their ideas and answer questions.
- The Vantaa Energy Startup Scouting Forum is a pitching and networking event aimed at energy technology startups. The event is organized by Vantaa Energy together City of Vantaa and Innovestor at Startup Runway on Tuesday, November 19. Read more about the event.
- The Silicon Vikings New Nordics Pitching Competition will showcase the best and brightest startups from the Nordic and Baltic regions. Six startups will compete for the championship at Epicenter on Mikonkatu in Helsinki on Tuesday, November 19. Silicon Vikings is organizing the event in collaboration with Business Helsinki, Startup Estonia, Platform6, Startup Tampere, Erhvervshus Hovedstaden, Snowflake, and the City of Vantaa.
